The Miss Tourism International 2024 World Final reached a dazzling milestone, marking its 30th anniversary with an unforgettable event on 13 December 2024. Organised by D’Touch International and presented by OE EduGroup, the grand finale was held at the prestigious Sunway Resort Hotel Grand Ballroom, celebrating three decades of promoting tourism, culture, and friendship.
Founded in 1994 by the visionary Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi, Miss Tourism International has grown from a local initiative into a global phenomenon, franchised to over 120 countries. The pageant has long been a platform for fostering international goodwill and cultural understanding, empowering women as ambassadors for tourism.

This year’s theme, “Bringing the World to Malaysia,” showcased the country’s vibrant attractions and underscored its commitment to global connections. Forty delegates from around the world participated, representing their nations with grace and pride.
His Highness YAM Tengku Laksamana Selangor, Prince Sulaiman Shah Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj, graced the event as Guest of Honour, adding a touch of royal elegance to the occasion. The evening featured an impressive showcase of cultural pride, with delegates donning their national costumes in a mesmerising parade. They also highlighted Malaysia’s rich heritage by wearing traditional batik, songket, and tenun designs crafted by Kraftangan Malaysia.
In addition to cultural displays, futuristic cyber wear by Thousands of Years Media brought a modern twist to the event. Delegates also showcased competition gowns designed by world-renowned creators from their respective countries.

During their two-week stay at the Sunway Pyramid Hotel, the official residence for the pageant, the delegates embarked on a journey to discover Malaysia’s iconic landmarks. Visits to the Petronas Twin Towers, Dataran Merdeka, and the National Monument offered a glimpse into the nation’s history and modernity. At Kraftangan Malaysia, they engaged in batik-making and traditional crafts, while thrilling moments at Sunway Lagoon added a dose of adventure.
The delegates also played a role in setting three Malaysia Book of Records titles, including the most nations participating in events such as a telephoto photography session, a fashion launch, and a resort launch. These achievements tied seamlessly with Malaysia’s Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign.
The coronation night was a spectacle of elegance and talent. With stellar performances by violinists Martin Looi and Jessica Loo, singer Winnie K, and Vietnam’s Tran Van Muoi alongside Malaysia’s Cookie J, the evening blended artistry and culture. Young models from China and dancers from Istana Budaya further enhanced the night’s vibrancy.
The competition awarded five main titles:
- Miss Tourism International 2024
- Miss Tourism Queen of The Year International 2024
- Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2024
- Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan International 2024
- Miss Tourism Global 2024
Two special awards, Dreamgirl of The Year International 2024 and Miss South East Asia Tourism Ambassadress 2024, added to the excitement.
Supported by Tourism Malaysia, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and corporate sponsors, the event highlighted Malaysia’s role as a cultural and tourism hub. The Miss Tourism International 2024 World Final stands as a testament to the power of tourism in fostering unity and understanding, bringing the world together under one roof.
