The Ambassador of Brazil to Malaysia, His Excellency Ary Norton de Murat Quintella, recently hosted a dinner at the Residence of Brazil in Kuala Lumpur in honour of HRH The Princess Tunku Mariamz Bte Al-Marhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj.
It was a meaningful occasion in appreciation of Tunku Mariamz’s vision, kindness and involvement in social causes. The dinner also afforded an opportunity for the strengthening of ties between Brazil and Malaysia.
Distinguished guests at the dinner event included Tengku Sofiyya (daughter of Tunku Mariamz), Lieutenant General Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeain Bin Jantan (Deputy Chief of Army), Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil (Deputy Secretary General – Investment – Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry), Datuk Mohamad Helmy Othman Basha (Group Managing Director of Sime Darby Plantation), Karima El Korri (United Nations Resident Coordinator), Dato’ R. Rajendran (Chairman of CSR Malaysia), Puan Sri Christine Khir Johari, and Datuk Mohd Yusof Ahmad (former Malaysian Ambassador to Peru and Switzerland).
The guests also came to know that Tunku Mariamz is able to speak in some 30 languages, although some are basic, and they were impressed.
The Residence of Brazil exudes a warm and cozy ambience and houses a beautiful collection of art pieces and a library of books and literature.
Guests were treated to a fine dining experience consisting of Brazilian and western cuisines.
