Visionary entrepreneur Colie established her company, C Creation Sdn Bhd in September 2019 while the brand, DGLIVZ was formed in January 2020. The company has successfully garnered sales of RM1.8 million within a short period of just two months after the launch of its product, Snowbebe. In an interview with Top 10 of Malaysia, Colie talks about her childhood and how she was inspired to create a product that benefitted not only herself but also others where they are able to look more beautiful.
Colie grew up in a poor family and this made her realised that finding a job is important to make ends meet. “After finishing my studies in secondary school, I took up a course in beauty, a subject that interests me the most,” shares Colie enthusiastically. “I always told myself that whatever I do, I will do my best. When I started working, I would accept tasks which nobody wanted to handle because I wanted my bosses to value me.”
Colie worked diligently daily without much leisure time. “I would willingly work seven days a week,” reminisces Colie, who would take up jobs related to sales or beauty. “I started working in the beauty industry since I was only 18 years old. I also worked as a beauty consultant and assisted in various treatments involving different skin types.”
Subsequently, after gaining some experience working in the beauty industry, Colie opened her own beauty parlour for three years before launching her first product, Snowbebe which was launched in January 2020. “I purchased a skin whitening machine that was only available overseas and not in Malaysia. The machine delivered tremendously good results in beautifying the skin and I received various requests for treatments from my customers. However, as treatment needed to be conducted once a week, some customers who live beyond Kuala Lumpur would find it difficult to travel weekly for their treatment appointments. That was when I decided to invent a product that could be consumed instead to deliver similar results and that was how I came up with the idea of creating Snowbebe,” says Colie with excitement.
Snowbebe was well accepted by the public and the company had accumulated more than 5,000 customers within just a few months. “There are still many in the market who are not aware of our brand, therefore we will try our very best to advertise and expose our brand and products,” says the young millionaire.
“I wanted to create a safe product that would deliver good results for myself and my customers. Snowbebe is a product that could be consumed daily. By drinking it, the skin will in time look much fairer, glowy and smooth,” says Colie cheerfully. “There is also a platform that I created for my agents to start their online business for them to earn a good income. Now, we have around 500 agents under the company. From time to time, we will also conduct research for the improvement of the product’s quality.”
“I would also invest more money so that the company’s working environment could be more conducive for my agents. I would also invest in research and development in order to produce more products for the market,” says Colie who rejoices that her products could transform her customers to look more beautiful. “As a founder, I don’t have many off days because I have to be in charge of planning the company’s direction. I have a daughter and I ensure that I spend time with her daily because a child would need his or her mother while growing up.”
“I give my trust wholly to my partners. Me and my four partners trust each other in whatever we do and that’s how we got to where we are today. Each one of us have our own tasks and responsibilities and I won’t question their progress in detail because I believe that they have the ability to succeed in our company,” says Colie. “Through my personal experience, people who yearn to succeed in life will make many attempts and persevere no matter how extenuating the circumstances maybe. When I was younger, my determination to succeed was my motivation to not give up whenever problems and challenges come my way.”
One of Colie’s greatest achievements is stepping out of the poverty zone. Her advice to youngsters who are interested in starting their own business is to persevere, be courageous to try and take on challenges that they encounter. “Many youngsters would give up whenever they are faced with an obstacle. Some would even dream of success but they are not brave enough to start taking small steps to start something they wanted to. On the other hand, some youngsters would give up whenever they find themselves in a dire situation.”
“Youngsters would also need to ask themselves if the kind of business they are starting would be something they are interested in doing. When it’s their area of interest, no amount of hard work will tire them and they will persevere until they reach their goal,” says Colie with a smile.
