The debut of Malaysia Bridal Fashion Week (MBFW) 2025 has set a new benchmark for the country’s wedding industry. Held from 25 to 27 July at Astana Hall, Bamboo Hills, this inaugural event was hosted by luxury bridal house The Gown Atelier. Over the course of three days, MBFW welcomed more than 2,000 guests – including media, celebrities, industry professionals, and brides-to-be – to witness a showcase of bridal fashion like never before.
Bringing together 23 renowned bridal designer labels from Malaysia and beyond, MBFW aimed to spark creativity and collaboration in the local wedding scene. Founder of MBFW and The Gown Atelier, East Chin, described the event as a platform to inspire and elevate the bridal experience for all involved in the wedding journey. “We hope MBFW becomes an annual celebration of bridal artistry, one that highlights excellence, diversity, and fashion as a form of cultural expression,” he said.
Unlike typical bridal events in the country, MBFW impressed with its thoughtful curation and large-scale ambition. The runway was uniquely designed in an infinity loop – a symbol of unity and everlasting love, echoing The Gown Atelier’s emblem. It served as a space for designers, stylists, and wedding planners to exchange ideas and explore the latest trends in bridal fashion. For many attendees, it was a rare opportunity to see couture gowns – often reserved for international runways – up close.

The event featured a mix of international icons such as Zuhair Murad, Vera Wang, and Chung Thanh Phong, alongside proud Malaysian-rooted names like The Atelier. Most of these world-renowned brands are exclusively carried by The Gown Atelier, further cementing its role as a leading bridal fashion curator.
Day 1 opened with a private ceremony attended by VIPs, celebrities, and media, followed by a runway show that highlighted intricate bridal designs with Western and Oriental influences. Stars like Arden Cho and local actress Yumi Wong graced the event, while YouTuber Han Xiiao Aii and Hong Kong actress Hebe Chan added glamour on the runway.
Day 2 introduced the theme “Oriental Charm”, showcasing modern takes on the qi pao and cheongsam. Designers such as Berta Chandra, Nicole Boenawan, and Tian Xi celebrated cultural elegance with a contemporary twist. “Ivory & Hues” on Day 3 brought the event to a graceful close with a refined selection of minimalist gowns and bold couture statements by designers like Ivan Yong and Maison Pera.

Beyond fashion, MBFW offered immersive experiences including bouquet and perfume customisation, edible art, and beauty services. Guests were entertained by hosts Kevin Chong and Diana Danielle, who also performed live, while musical interludes added a sophisticated touch. Lucky draws and exclusive vendor offers kept spirits high, with top prizes including a RM75,000 luxury mattress and a RM20,000 bespoke diamond ring.
Backed by prominent sponsors and partners including BridePay, Bobbi Brown, BEON Diamond, and Astana Bamboo Hill, MBFW proved what’s possible when fashion and collaboration come together. As a trailblazer in luxury bridal fashion, The Gown Atelier continues to redefine wedding experiences – and MBFW marks a bold new chapter for Malaysia’s bridal future.
