The Uzbekistan Embassy in Kuala Lumpur proudly hosted a grand ceremony to commemorate the 33rd Independence Day of Uzbekistan on September 1, 2024. The prestigious event was held at JW Marriot Kuala Lumpur and was graced by numerous distinguished guests and dignitaries, reflecting the deepening ties between Uzbekistan and Malaysia.
His Excellency Dr Karomiddin Gadoev, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia, presided over the ceremony with warmth and eloquence, underscoring the significance of the occasion in celebrating Uzbekistan’s journey towards sovereignty and national development. His Excellency Gadoev’s address highlighted the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two nations, reinforcing the commitment to furthering bilateral relations.
The Malaysian government was represented by Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, the Minister of Higher Education, who delivered a congratulatory speech on behalf of the Malaysian administration. Dr. Zambry’s presence exemplified the strong diplomatic, business and educational collaboration that exists between Malaysia and Uzbekistan.
The event saw the attendance of numerous ambassadors and high-profile personalities, emphasizing the event’s importance on both national and international levels. Among the prominent businessmen present were Datuk Seri Dr. KK Chai, Founder of KK Supermart Group, who has been a leading figure in the Malaysian business community and a supporter of economic cooperation between the two nations, and Dato’ Peter T. S. Ng, Founder and Executive Chairman of UCSI Group, known for his contributions to education and business, reinforcing the shared commitment to educational and economic advancements.
